MSC/CJB COVID-19 Update

(March 31) We hope you and your families are all safe and doing well during these challenging times.  Monroe Sports Center and Central Jersey Basketball will remain closed and all activities suspended until the government allows us to open. Please be assured that every dollar that has been spent at MSC or CJB for a program or event that has been or will be canceled due to the shutdown will be made up or credited back to you.  At this point, we are unable to process any refunds for any reason, but all of these credits and makeups will be added to our internal system and will never expire.  Below is a list of all of our programs, broken down by sport, with specific information about how credits and makeups are being handled.   If you have any questions, please email us at info@monroesportscenter.com.

Tennis

  • Tennis Season Courts & Lessons: The season has been extended and all weeks that are missed will be added to the end of the season at the same day and time.  For example: if your season court is on a Monday and assuming we are able to reopen by May 1, you will have missed 7 weeks (Mar 16, 23, 30, Apr 6, 13, 20, 27).  Season courts on Mondays were previously scheduled to run thru June 8.  If 7 weeks are missed, the season will extend by 7 weeks until July 27 (Jun 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27).  If you'd like, you may reschedule any of these makeups for another date, based on availability.  The absolute latest the season will be extended is Labor Day.  If the shutdown lasts long enough where the season would extend past Sept 7, then you will have the option to reschedule the makeups for another date during the summer or to take a credit for the weeks missed.  For example: if the shutdown lasts until June 16, you will have missed 6 more weeks for a total of 13 weeks.  Extending the season 13 weeks starting June 22 would take us into September.  In this example, you would get 11 Mondays at your same day & time and then you would have the option of rescheduling the last 2 weeks for any other date during the summer or to take credit for the final 2 weeks that can be applied to next year's season court balance or anything else at MSC or CJB.

  • Tennis Clinics (Tiny Tots, 12u, Junior & Adult): The season has been extended and all weeks that are missed will be added to the end of the season at the same day and time. Consistent with our usual makeup policy for clinics, with at least 24 hours notice customers may switch to any clinic at the same level on a different day.  These makeups may carry over to future seasons so if you are unable to use all of your makeups before the end of the summer, you can use those makeups in the fall or any other future season.

  • Junior Team Tennis: The Fall JTT ended right before the 3rd place and championship match.  Those 2 matches will be rescheduled when we are able to open and a Fall JTT Champion will be crowned.  The USTA portion of the JTT season will begin immediately following the 3rd place & Championship matches and will conclude before Districts, which are currently still on as scheduled the 2nd week of July. NEW PLAYERS MAY STILL REGISTER FOR THE USTA PORTION OF THE JTT SEASON. Depending on when the shutdown ends, this may mean that teams may end up playing two matches a week in June to make sure each team gets in their full 5-match schedule.  The USTA JTT rosters and schedule will be posted when we have a definite date to open.

  • Orange Ball & Green Ball JTT:  The Spring season of Orange Ball JTT and Green Ball JTT will resume as soon as we are able to open.  Once we have a definite date when we can resume activities, we will post an updated schedule for both Orange Ball JTT and Green Ball JTT.

  • USTA Tournaments: All USTA Tournaments have been canceled by the USTA until May 3.  All tournaments after May 3 are still on as scheduled, but as the situation evolves the USTA will continue to update.

  • Special Events (Elite Round Robins, High Performance Drill Groups, Junior Tennis Ladders): All special events are off until we are able to reopen.  As soon as we are able to open, special events scheduled for dates after we open will resume on the dates currently scheduled.

  • Summer Camps (12u Camp, Level Up Camp, Junior Camp and Adult Camp):  As long as the shutdown ends by June 22, all tennis camps will run as scheduled at their current dates and times.

Basketball

  • Winter MJBL: The winter season has officially been canceled.  All teams that had games remaining in their season will receive credit for those games that can be used for future MJBL seasons or anything else at MSC or CJB.  For example, if your team paid $1000 for 10 games, and you only played 8 of those games before the season was suspended, you will receive a $200 credit that will never expire.  Please note that you are not required to play another full season to receive the credit.  In the example above, you may choose to just play 2 games on any date you want and we will work you into the current MJBL season against opponents at your age and level.

  • Winter CJ Hawks, MSC Hawks & NJ Falcons players: The winter season has officially been canceled.  All players that had events (games or practices) remaining on their schedule will receive a credit for $10 per event missed that will not expire and can be used for future teams or anything else at MSC or CJB.

  • Winter Independent teams: The winter season has officially been canceled.  All players on independent teams will receive credit for all games and practices remaining on their schedule.  Independent teams where players were invoiced individually will have the individual credit placed directly under each player's name.  Independent teams where 1 person paid the entire invoice will have the team credit placed under their name.

  • Spring MJBL: The Spring MJBL will resume as soon as we are able to open.  NEW TEAMS MAY STILL REGISTER FOR THE SPRING MJBL. Once we have a definite date when we can resume activities, we will post the first couple weeks of the schedule for the Spring MJBL.  If the shutdown ends by mid-late May, we will be able to fit in a full Spring season that will run thru late June to early July and then start the summer MJBL in late June.  Spring MJBL teams should continue to update their online scheduling request forms because that is what we will use to schedule games and avoid conflicts.  If the shutdown runs into June, then the Spring MJBL will be combined with the Summer MJBL and will run thru August.

  • Spring/Summer CJ Hawks players: The Spring/Summer season will resume as soon as we are able to open.  NEW PLAYERS MAY STILL TRY OUT FOR CJ HAWKS TEAMS AT THEIR AGE GROUP AT EITHER MSC OR CJB.  CJ Hawks teams run thru August so Spring/Summer CJ Hawks teams should have plenty of time to fit in the correct number of games and practices, based on the specific team package.  Once we have a definite date when we can resume activities, we will post the updated practice schedule and tournament weekends.  The game schedule will be posted shortly after that.  All teams will have at least 1 practice before any payments are due, and then payments will be due at the 2nd scheduled practice after we reopen.

  • Spring MSC Hawks & NJ Falcons players: Spring MSC Hawks Evaluations and NJ Falcons Evaluations will be rescheduled as soon as we are able to open and the practices will start the week after evaluations. NEW PLAYERS MAY STILL REGISTER FOR MSC HAWKS OR NJ FALCONS EVALUATIONS & RETURNING PLAYERES MAY STILL REGISTER FOR THIS UPCOMING SEASON.  If the shutdown ends by mid-late May, we will be able to fit in a full Spring season that will run thru late June to early July.  If the shutdown runs into June, then the Spring season will be combined with the summer season and will run thru August.

  • Spring Independent Teams: Independent team practices that are missed will be rescheduled once we have a definite date when we can open.  NEW INDEPENDENT TEAMS MAY STILL BE FORMED AND MAY BOOK PRACTICE TIME ON A WEEKLY BASIS AT ANY LOCATION.  If the shutdown ends by mid-late May, we will be able to fit in a full Spring season that will run thru late June to early July.  If the shutdown runs into June, then the Spring season will be combined with the summer season and will run thru August.

  • Winter Mens League:  The winter season ended right before the Championship games were played.  Those 5 Championship games will be rescheduled when we are able to open.

  • Spring Mens League: The Spring Mens League will resume as soon as we are able to open.  NEW TEAMS MAY STILL REGISTER FOR THE SPRING MENS LEAGUE. Once we have a definite date when we can resume activities, we will post the first couple weeks of the schedule for the Spring Mens League.  If the shutdown ends by early to mid May, we will be able to fit in a full Spring season that will run thru late June and then start the summer MJBL in mid June.  If the shutdown runs into late May, then the Spring Mens League will be combined with the Summer Mens League and will run thru August/September.

  • Basketball Classes (Tiny Tots, Small Fry, Mini MSC Hawks, Skills Sessions, Girls Skills, WAC Skills, Elite Guard Training, All Star Sports, Kelvin's Basketball Academy): The season has been extended and all weeks that are missed will be added to the end of the season at the same day and time. Consistent with our usual makeup policy for basketball classes, with at least 24 hours notice customers may switch to any class in the same program on a different day.  These makeups may carry over to future seasons so if you are unable to use all of your makeups before the end of the season, you can use those makeups in any other future season.

  • Basketball Tournaments:  All basketball tournaments scheduled before April 30 have been canceled.  Tournaments scheduled after May 1 will run if the shutdown ends before the tournament is scheduled.

  • Summer Camps (Sean Casey Camp & MSC Basketball Camps):  As long as the shutdown ends by June 22, all basketball camps will run as scheduled at their current dates and times.
